Tell us what makes the item bulky.

A boxed piece of furniture, a long component and a heavy equipment case need different arrangements. Describe the item, how it is packaged and whether its shape, finish or weight makes it difficult to handle. Photographs can help explain an unusual shape or collection point.

This service suits individual goods and business consignments. It is not a household removals, unpacking or installation package. If the job involves several large pieces, list them separately so the complete load can be considered together.

Measure the finished package, not the product listing.

Give the external length, width and height, including wrapping, a crate, pallet base or projecting parts. Add the packaged weight of each piece and the total item count. A retailer's product dimensions may exclude packaging or describe the item assembled.

Explain the required travel position and whether another item can safely be placed on top. For furniture, protect corners and finished surfaces and secure loose parts within suitable packaging. Tell us about glass, easily marked finishes or components that need particular care before transport is agreed.

Plan the lifting and the route through each property.

Let us know where the vehicle can stop and how far the goods must move to reach it. Include stairs, floor levels, lift dimensions, narrow doorways and restricted parking. Check the same details at delivery, especially when sending an item to a customer's home.

  • Identify who will be available to help at both addresses.
  • State the loading equipment available and who can operate it.
  • Describe any need for extra people or a tail-lift before booking.
  • Agree the handover point rather than assuming upstairs or room-of-choice delivery.

Large size does not establish the right loading method. Vehicle suitability, additional help and equipment must be agreed for the load and the access. Do not leave a heavy or unstable item for one person to move without an agreed plan.

Choose between a large parcel and palletised freight.

A securely boxed item may suit large parcel delivery. A heavier business load may be better prepared as palletised goods, with its loaded footprint, height and weight recorded. Tell us how it will actually be presented for collection.

For European or worldwide delivery, email the countries, item description, value, packaging and handling details. The overseas route, acceptance and paperwork need review before a transport arrangement can be offered.

Your questions, answered.

Can you collect packaged furniture from a seller?

Provide the seller’s collection reference, the time the goods will be ready and an accurate packaged item list. Confirm that the seller can release the goods and provide any agreed loading help.

Is two-person delivery included?

Additional people, carrying upstairs, assembly and unpacking are not automatic parts of a courier booking. Explain what is needed so the handling scope and availability can be confirmed.

How do I get a price for an awkward item?

Start with packaged measurements, weight, both postcodes and the date. Email photographs and access details if the shape or handling needs more explanation than the online quote allows.
