Stock, orders and returns. Clearly arranged.
From replenishing a shop to moving a bulky customer order, the delivery needs to fit the goods and the person receiving them. Describe both before choosing the service.

Explain the delivery behind the order.
Tell us whether this is stock moving between business premises, an order going to a customer or a return to a supplier. Include the collection and delivery addresses, order reference and date the goods will be packed. Keep the recipient’s availability separate from your preferred dispatch time.
We arrange collections into Cornwall, deliveries outward and UK-wide journeys. European and worldwide orders can also be reviewed; send the countries, goods description, value and shipment purpose with an international delivery enquiry.
Count and measure the finished packages.
An order with several boxes should have a complete item list. Measure each package after wrapping, including any outer crate or pallet. Give the weight of each piece and explain items that cannot be stacked. For a bulky purchase, product dimensions alone may underestimate the space needed for transport.
- Label pieces so the collection contact can identify the complete order.
- Describe fragile surfaces and the protection already in place.
- Give the full loaded footprint for palletised stock.
- Say whether a return contains different items or packaging from the outward delivery.
Make the customer handover practical.
Check where a vehicle can stop, the floor level and any stairs, narrow entrances or carrying distance. A large parcel delivery does not by itself include carrying upstairs, unpacking, assembly or removing old goods. Tell us what help is required so the scope can be agreed before your customer is given a delivery commitment.
For shop or warehouse deliveries, include goods-in hours and any appointment reference. Make sure the receiving contact knows how many pieces are arriving and can accept the whole consignment.
Confirm supplier release and return acceptance.
For a third-party collection, ask the seller to confirm that the order is complete, packed and authorised for release. Give the collection reference and a contact who can find the actual goods. For a return, obtain the recipient’s acceptance and return reference if required, then confirm the packed item list and receiving address. Courier transport does not decide whether a retailer will refund or exchange the goods.
Set out a repeatable collection brief.
For recurring work, describe typical daily or weekly volumes, regular routes and seasonal changes. Distinguish a consistent stock transfer from orders whose size and destination vary. A trade account enquiry can explain those patterns; it does not automatically book collections or establish a parcel-network tariff.
Start with a quote for a one-off UK journey. Email a stock-transfer schedule, mixed consignment or unusual customer delivery so the details can be reviewed together.
A few details, made clear.
What information helps with regular business deliveries?
Share your usual routes, frequency, typical goods, packaged sizes, receiving arrangements and any predictable busy periods. Mention what changes from job to job. We can discuss a practical service and quoting process, with availability, pricing and any account facilities agreed individually. Regular work does not automatically establish a fixed rate, reserved capacity or credit terms.
Can you move fragile or high-value items?
Describe the item, its value, packaging, permitted orientation and any special handling or no-transfer requirement before booking. Photographs can help explain the goods and their protection. We need to confirm suitability and the relevant liability and insurance arrangements for that consignment. A Fragile label alone does not establish specialist handling or cover.
What if there are stairs, a long carry or difficult access?
Explain the floors, carry distance, doorway and stair dimensions, stopping place and the goods’ size and weight. Photographs can help clarify the route from the vehicle to the handover point. Additional handling and any extra person must be arranged beforehand; selecting a larger vehicle does not provide a two-person crew or confirm safe access.
Can you arrange a return collection after a delivery or event?
Yes, send the outward and return requirements together. Include both sets of addresses and dates, what will travel in each direction and when the returning goods will be packed and accessible. A return journey is not automatically included in the outward price or covered by its receiving appointment; the complete arrangement needs confirmation.
