One clear delivery window.

For Standard and Economy, the allowance covers collection and delivery together. Day 1 is the next working day after the agreed goods-ready date. Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding the applicable UK bank holidays. We confirm the latest delivery date before booking.

We give each collection or delivery contact at least one working day's notice of the planned day. Shorter notice needs that contact's agreement and does not extend the agreed delivery deadline.

The handover matters too.

Basic, safe assistance from one driver is included for loading, unloading and handing over packaged goods at an easily accessible ground-floor entrance. Stairs, long carries, additional people and specialist equipment need prior review and an agreed price.

Tell us about the goods and their value before booking. The applicable contractual liability and any separate insurance arrangements must be explained for your consignment; one does not establish the other.

Standard and Economy are normally planned for Monday–Friday, 08:00–18:00 UK time, excluding applicable bank holidays. Urgent, evening, weekend and other special arrangements need review before a price and service are confirmed.

Liability, declared value and insurance

The v1.7 UK goods-liability figures apply only to Business Customers, for all goods under one Booking / Consignment. They are not per item, stop or vehicle and are not shared with other customers. Compensation depends on proved loss and the applicable Terms. Consumers are not subject to these fixed tier limits or a Declared Value cap; applicable legal rights and remedies remain protected.

Dedicated and Premium may be considered for a higher limit up to £50,000. Individual review and express written acceptance before booking are required, including any charge. This is not an automatic upgrade, a promise that it will be available or an insurance product.

Declare the full goods value, packaging and handling needs before booking. If the value exceeds the applicable Business Customer limit, we must review a suitable written arrangement before accepting the booking. Declaring a value alone changes neither the limit nor cover. Freight-liability insurance supports liabilities the carrier may have; it is not all-risks goods insurance or a guaranteed claim payment. International and separate cargo-insurance arrangements require individual review. Read clauses 18–20 and confirm the applicable Terms before booking.

What does shared transport mean?

Other customers’ compatible goods may travel on the same journey. Premium keeps the same planned driver and vehicle without depot transfers. Standard and Economy can involve transfers or changes of driver and vehicle. Choose Dedicated when you need the vehicle exclusively for your own consignment.

How are the five and seven working days counted?

For Standard and Economy, the allowance covers collection and delivery together. Day 1 is the next working day after the agreed goods-ready date. Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding the applicable UK bank holidays. We confirm the latest delivery date before booking.

For example, if the agreed goods-ready date is a Monday and there are no applicable bank holidays, Day 1 is Tuesday. Standard Day 5 is the following Monday; Economy Day 7 is the following Wednesday. The deadline does not restart when collection takes place.

What happens if loading or unloading takes longer?

Your included allowance covers waiting, loading and unloading together at each stop. It starts when the driver has arrived, is ready and has notified the contact, no earlier than the agreed time or window. Delays caused by us are excluded. The v1.7 Schedule A rate for vans and Lutons is £12 including VAT per started 15 minutes above the allowance. Lorry and specialist rates require a written quotation. Consumer totals include applicable VAT. The quotation must explain any separately agreed handling allowance; the same work or time is not charged twice.

Can I request evenings, weekends or a fixed appointment?

Tell us the actual receiving window and whether it is essential. Dedicated and Premium allow you to request preferred dates and times, subject to confirmation. Standard and Economy use operator-selected days. Evening, weekend, bank-holiday and other exceptions require advance review of availability and price; Economy is not an automatic option for an urgent deadline or fixed appointment.

What delivery updates and evidence will I receive?

Agree the contact method and any proof-of-delivery requirements in your quote. If you need a signed handover, photograph or a particular recipient, tell us before booking. A progress update is not the same as live GPS tracking; ask us to confirm what is available for the chosen journey.

Can I change an address or reschedule?

Contact us as soon as your plans change. A change is agreed only after our office confirms the revised arrangements, including any effect on the route, timing or price. Do not assume a change is free or confirmed until we have accepted it in writing. Cancellation and rescheduling are different; check the applicable Terms and your Booking Confirmation.

What affects a courier delivery price?

The collection and delivery locations are the starting point. The size of the goods determines suitable vehicle space; the total weight, loading method and deadline help establish how the journey can be arranged. Two deliveries covering the same distance can need different services.

Route

Where the journey goes

Both postcodes, any extra stops, remote access, ferries and a return collection all help define the work involved.

Goods

What needs to travel

Packaged dimensions, total weight, quantity and stackability determine the space and handling to consider.

Timing

When it needs to arrive

An urgent deadline, a fixed receiving slot and a flexible planned collection can require different arrangements.

Handover

How it is loaded

Site access, waiting, loading equipment and additional assistance should be discussed before the journey is confirmed.

Start with your type of delivery.

Documents, parcels and dedicated UK delivery

Provide both postcodes, the collection date, the ready time and any essential arrival deadline. Include every package’s dimensions and the total weight. If you need an exclusive vehicle or a direct journey, say so when requesting your quote. Explore dedicated transport.

One pallet, several pallets or bulky goods

Measure the full loaded pallet, including its base and any overhang. State the number of pallets, weight of each, whether they can be stacked and the loading equipment available at both ends. A pallet count alone is not enough to select a vehicle. Read the pallet delivery guide.

Regular business deliveries

Share typical routes, frequency, usual goods and receiving windows. Mention seasonal peaks and multiple stops. Any recurring service, account pricing and invoicing arrangements are discussed individually. Prepare a trade account enquiry.

UK islands, Europe and worldwide

Include countries, postcodes, contents, packaged measurements, weight and preferred dates. For overseas goods, add their value and purpose of shipment. Ferry arrangements, customs processes and destination requirements need individual review. Explore international delivery.

What the indicative price covers.

Your guide uses the road distance, vehicle category and service you choose. It covers a simple UK mainland transport journey. It does not calculate a route, check vehicle availability or confirm a booking.

Personal is selected by default and shows one price including VAT. Choose Business to show one price before VAT, marked + VAT. Both use the same transport estimate. Required extras, access, handling, timing and the applicable tax treatment are reviewed before a firm quote. International, island or ferry journeys, lorries, multiple stops and specialist handling need an individual quote.

From an estimate to a confirmed booking.

An estimate helps you plan. We then review the route, goods, access, timing and availability before issuing a firm quote with the applicable price, terms and expiry time. A Booking Request is reviewed separately. Your booking is confirmed only when the required payment or approved account arrangements and transport capacity have been checked, and we issue a Booking Confirmation.

Compare the complete service.

When comparing prices, check the vehicle or delivery method, collection window, arrival requirements, included handling and VAT treatment. Ask whether excess stop time, extra stops, ferries or other route costs are included. A parcel-network price and a dedicated vehicle price may cover very different arrangements.

Help us price the delivery accurately.

Measure goods after packaging and confirm that someone can load and receive them. Describe narrow access, stairs, fragile contents or equipment needs early. Tell us if dates are flexible, and share photographs by email when an unusual item is easier to explain visually.

Use the quote service for a delivery price. For international shipments, complex routes or unusual loads, email the full requirement so it can be reviewed together. Your service, price and any additional arrangements are confirmed before booking.
