Illustrative scene. Important documents ready for an agreed handover.

An important envelope deserves a clear brief.

A document delivery starts with the person expecting it. Give the full address, department or reception point, named contact and receiving hours. Tell us when the envelope will be sealed and ready, and whether the arrival deadline is essential or simply preferred.

Suitable enquiries include signed business paperwork, printed records and documents moving between offices or private addresses. You can arrange an outward journey from Cornwall, a collection elsewhere for Cornwall, or a UK-wide delivery. Include a return leg if paperwork must come back after signing.

Choose the timing and handover you need.

For urgent UK documents, same-day delivery can be assessed against the route and time available. If an exclusive vehicle, direct journey or particular recipient handover matters, describe it in the enquiry so the arrangement can be confirmed before booking.

Check how the receiving organisation accepts deliveries. A building address may lead to a mailroom rather than the intended person's desk. Give any reception reference, appointment or access instructions, and explain what confirmation of delivery you require.

Protect the documents and keep the label practical.

Use a securely sealed envelope or suitable outer packaging. Add a rigid backing if bending could damage the contents, and protect paperwork from moisture. Label the outside clearly with the delivery details and keep unrelated confidential information inside.

  • State the number of envelopes or packages, their dimensions and weight.
  • Keep a copy of important documents where appropriate.
  • Identify the collection contact who can release the sealed package.
  • Explain handling requirements without emailing scans of sensitive contents.

Sending paperwork overseas.

For a European or worldwide destination, email both countries, the full addresses, a general description of the contents and the deadline. Document classification and destination requirements need review; do not assume that a sealed envelope removes every customs or import requirement.

Say if the package includes anything other than paper, such as a sample or electronic storage device. Its treatment may differ from a document-only shipment. The appropriate service and any supporting information are confirmed for the actual contents.

Your questions, answered.

Can you deliver documents today?

Send the collection postcode, destination, packed-ready time and latest receiving time. Same-day suitability depends on the journey and available transport; the timing must be confirmed for the booking.

Can you collect an envelope and bring it back after signing?

Include both journeys, the expected time needed for signing and who will release the return envelope. Waiting or a later collection needs to be part of the agreed quote.

Does delivery include legal certification or formal service?

This page describes courier transport. Do not rely on it as an offer of process serving, document certification or legal advice. Check any legal delivery requirement with the receiving organisation or your adviser before booking.
